Baltimore goes big to celebrate first Purple Friday of 2022 season
The Baltimore Ravens are getting fans fired up on first official Purple Friday of the 2022 season.
The Purple Friday Caravan began making stops Friday morning throughout the Baltimore area, including in Cecil County. The first stop was a Dunkin in Elkton.
"How fun is this? It's pretty fun," said Eli Swartz, a fan.
"I am so excited. I'm pumped up. The Ravens are fantastic," said Mark Johnson, a fan.
"I am so excited. I've never been to a caravan. I never get down to Baltimore for these," said Linda Litzenberg, a fan.
Fans flocked to the new location off Interstate 95 for a chance to win prizes, get their cars stenciled with the Ravens logo and meet the cheerleaders.
"This is a lot of fun. You know, these people are just coming here to get their coffee, and they're getting in the Ravens spirit, too. I mean, what more can you ask for on a Friday?" said Eugene, a fan.
The fact that the Ravens visited Cecil County means everything to die-hard fans. Matthew Peterson and Jackie Prescott made the trip from New Jersey. Prescott said she bleeds purple wherever she goes, and she wasn't missing this caravan for anything.
"We love the Ravens, and we we're so glad you were so close," Prescott said.
Students at Baltimore's Leith Walk Elementary/Middle School formed "Go Ravens!" in the afternoon.
The events Friday all lead up to the big Countdown to Kickoff party starting at 10 a.m. at Power Plant Live! It's a concert and a watch party, and most importantly, it's all things Ravens.
