Underground Pizza Company opened its flagship location at Power Plant Live! featuring its wildly popular Detroit-style pizza. Their Power Plant Live! location is the first brick-and-mortar venue for the brand, marking a major milestone for the growth of the Baltimore-based company. Located across from Leinie Lodge & Beer Garden, Underground Pizza Company shares a spacious exterior plaza for outdoor dining.
The Food
Their Power Plant Live! location is an experimental home base for the local startup that plans to take their brand to new heights with this flagship property. Guests can expect to be able to try brand-new creations of pizza year-round, participate in exclusive tasting opportunities and attend special pop-up events in collaboration with local chefs and restaurateurs.
Underground Pizza Company features a creative menu of Detroit-style pies made from quality ingredients including classic recipes, seasonal items and rotating new creations. Signature menu items include The Woodlands, featuring Hen of the Woods and oyster mushrooms, gruyere cheese and thyme; The Funfetti, featuring half red sauce and half pesto sauce and topped with peppers, onions and spicy Italian sausage sauteed in pork fat; and The Fall Harvest, featuring local delicata squash, goat cheese and pumpkin seeds.
The concept was founded by Evan Weinstein when the global pandemic hit. Weinstein, a concert and special event promoter, turned to his passion for food when COVID-19 caused the cancellation of concerts and large-scale events nationwide.
